The release paper is a multi-functional necessity when using sublimation or heat transfers! The main use is for protection when transferring an opaque heat transfer image onto a dark garment. When it is placed between the image and the platen it prevents the ink on your transfer from ending up on your heat press. Follow the instructions for your heat transfer paper for application.
